The e-mail confirming the job:
We were able to secure a room for Sept. 16 for you to come to Marianopolis College to talk to our students.
There will be a mixed group -- some Commerce students, some Honors Commerce students, and some students taking a sociology course in Mass Media.
As I wrote before the activity period is 1245-200 or so... you will be introduced around 12:50 or 12:55 giving them time to arrive and get some announcements.
We would like to leave time for questions -- so if you speak for 30-35-40 minutes max.... that would work.
Let me know what title you want to use.... we will advertise it in the school newsletter etc.
As we addressed before... it would be great for them to see how people need to take initiative and be innovative and hard working etc. How you can use technology to your benefit etc.
Let me know if you need anything else,
ClientWonderful. I hope to inspire the students to digital greatness in the era of You-commerce!
IN OTHER JOBS:
I finished re-editing the Indianica video. The final video is much more corporate and educational than my original director's cut, which was definitely catered to my project and my sense of humor. As soon as I get the final approval, I will be releasing the video.
Other jobs, other jobs... I have applied to some gigs on Craigslist the last couple of days, but no responses yet. It's been going so well with referrals for 100 Jobs, that I haven't been advertising myself much. It's time to put the word out, again!
IN JOBS FROM AROUND THE WEB:
I have been following the horrible plight of the miners trapped in Chile, and wanted to send out some positive energy so that they can be rescued promptly and returned safely to land and their loved ones.
Here's an update in the Montreal Gazette, Rescue digs deeper to trapped Chilean miners, and a terse article about the stupidity of the Chilean government and the mining company in The National Post.
I can't even imagine how psychologically challenging their experience must be. Perhaps coping with the extreme stress through creativity may help keep the miners sane (I am not sure that sending them down antidepressants will help). The only way I would be able to distract myself in such an extreme environment would be through artistic expression, either by writing or drawing. If I had a video camera, even better, and certainly more authentic than an insipid Hollywood film that is sure to follow the terrible ordeal. My guess is that they will entitle it "33".
Sending positive energy and strength to the miners,
